Did you know that roughly *32% of children in New Orleans live below the poverty line and may not be able to afford basic school supplies? That means nearly 1 in 3 local students could begin the school year without the essentials they need to feel included and succeed in the classroom. To help change that, we’re partnering with STEM Library Lab to ensure that local students have what they need to thrive. Through this partnership, STEM Library Lab will collect and distribute free school supplies and classroom resources directly to teachers in high-need schools across our community.
Despite ongoing efforts, the need in the Greater New Orleans region remains urgent , too many teachers are struggling, and every year more students require support. To meet this growing demand, our goal is to collect 1,000,000 school supplies and all of which will be distributed to local teachers in need.
